Sustainable Development
We have a long term view and mindset in everything we do. We have adopted an environmentally friendly approach and we are proud of our our long-term environmentally friendly strategy and the fact that our company has recorded safe, sustainable growth over the years. Social responsibility and sustainability, are the integral parts of our business strategy.
We continually strive to reduce the environmental impact of our operations by complying with a range of environmental requirements, regulations and legislation applicable to logistics and transport.
We have in place the ISO14001 Environmental Management System - a system based on international standards, which confirms the continuous and consistent implementation of measures aimed at reducing the negative impact of our activities on the environment as much as possible, e.g. by reducing the pollution and waste produced or the consumption of energy and raw materials.
Our strategy is based on five pillars: TOP ECO Truck, SAFE and ECO Driving, Safe Work, Better Society, PRO ECO.
By using 'green' tyres, we can reduce noise and, thanks to low rolling resistance, CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
We implement low-emission or even negative-emission synthetic fuels such as BioLNG and HVO 100. Importantly, HVO 100 can be used in conventional diesel engines in heavy transport without the need for engine adaptation min. Euro 5 and 6.
All of the above measures are planned so that our carbon footprint is even smaller and environmental care is not just a catchy slogan, but an actual and measurable action on our part.
For more than a decade, we have employed a full-time professional trainer to train our drivers in both safe and economical driving, as well as so-called Behaviour Based Safety, i.e. reinforcing correct behaviour and good habits while correcting incorrect behaviour.
100% of our drivers have received such training.
We also organise a monthly 'ECO TRANSPORT' competition for our drivers, in which we reward, a.o. those with the lowest fuel consumption needed to transport 1 tonne of cargo.
Taking care of the safety of all employees is the basis for a comfortable working environment. We have identified all possible risks for each workplace. On this basis, we have prepared a catalogue of safe practices (SWP) and a catalogue of safe working procedures (SJP). All employees receive occupational health and safety (OHS) training and, where necessary, are provided with protective equipment. These measures make work safe and enjoyable.
At Dartom, we have been actively managing and recycling waste that is safe for our environment.
For several years we have been using only energy-efficient LED lighting in the office. We also have a policy of reducing paper consumption by switching to e-invoicing, e-documentation and e-archive, and reducing the number of printed documents through the use of electronic signatures. As a result, we have significantly reduced our electricity requirements.
In addition, by installing photovoltaic panels, designed to maximise self-consumption, we have secured electricity from renewable energy sources. From 2023, 100% of the electricity we use will come from 'green' sources.
We hand over archive documents that may already have gone to destruction to a professional company, which then converts the resulting material into cardboard packaging, allowing them to be reused and confirming our responsibility to care for the environment.
Our company actively participates in the development of sport both regionally and nationally. We support, among others, our home Table Tennis Sports Club - BOGORIA Grodzisk Mazowiecki, which is, a.o. a nine-time Polish Team Champion and a five-time participant in the quarter-finals of the European Champions League.Bogoria is not only the Senior Team, but also Table Tennis Schools, the Grodzisk Amateur League and a number of initiatives for Grodzisk schoolchildren.
Dartom also supports the activities of the following charitable institutions and foundations:
- Foundation for People with Physical Disabilities "Godne Życie",
- "Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Dzieci" foundation,
- "Pożywienie darem serca" foundation,
- "Bezpieczne Miasto" association in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
We organise a number of internships and apprenticeships, enabling local young people to learn the ins and outs of working for logistics and freight forwarding company from a practical perspective. Between a few and up to a dozen young people benefit from the internship and apprenticeship programme every year.
In addition to subsidising specific organisations on an ongoing basis, we also support local cultural events, initiatives at local schools with a logistics and transport profile and more, and are involved in a number of charitable activities and collections.

In this year's assessment, we scored better than last year's, including the highest for our environmental performance and receiving an EcoVadis silver medal. We are among the 25 per cent of the best-rated companies in this ranking.
